Good News in Dadaab

Amid all the misfortunes we have had with the KCPE Exams, the performance by the candidates who got their results was impressive. One of our Girls by the name Fatuma Omar Ismail index number 805310046 has particularly done us proud. Fatuma emerged the top girl in the entire North Eastern Province with 364 Marks and has been admitted to the prestigious Kenya High School in Nairobi.

She is the first candidate from the Dadaab refugee camps to secure an admission in a National School.

The girl is from UpendoPrimary School in Hagadera camp. The admission letter is with the Quality Assurance officer in Lagdera and the Hagadera Education supervisor, Musa Dagane, who is in Garissa will collect it today. Congratulatutions to Fatuma and the education staff for this achievement

The District Quality Assurance Officer (Diquaso) in charge of Lagdera rung today (14/01/09) and informed us that she has been selected to the prestigious Kenya Girls High School which is one of the best National schools in the country. This is the first time ever in the History of Dadaab schools for a student to be admitted to National schools which are reputed for having the best resources for secondary education.

Fatuma's ambition is to become a lawyer.
